Hello, this is
Jasmine Tang Si Min
My Story
'I want to be a wedding planner in future,' I told myself. It happened when I was 15 years old. I was inspired by a drama after watching the female main character as a wedding planner successfully execute a wedding from scratch although she does face difficulties.
Later, I had the chance to take part in high school activities by joining the Chinese Orchestra club and the QuarterMaster Club which is in charge of the school's sports events. With these few experiences, it makes me firmer to pursue in the events industry. Instead of staying in the office and facing numbers all the time, I would prefer to meet new people in my future job (yes, I'm bad at numbers...).
However, my parents did not agree with me when I told them I would like to study for a Diploma in Events Management, especially my dad. He has assumptions towards the events industry that it is tough and working hours are non-fixed. But after discussion, he respects my decision with a condition. He hoped that I won't regret it and ended up choosing to defer the course.
After having the opportunity to be involved in different types of events during my university life, it has changed my view on events. Instead of just pursuing wedding events, I am now interested in experiencing all kinds of events by meeting new people.
